Lately I’ve been fully pulled toward quirky little objects, vintage home decor, brass animals, nostalgic trinkets, and things that feel like they quietly belonged in someone’s cozy little 1978 living room.
Basically, if something looks like it could sit perfectly on a bookshelf in a Nancy Meyers movie or inside the home of someone who owns too many candles and tells incredible stories, I’m probably bringing it home with me.
Some of these little treasures I’m planning to keep for now. Some I’d potentially be willing to part with if they found the right home. So if you happen to fall deeply emotionally attached to one of these finds too, feel free to message me. 💛
The Little Hippo Planter

This tiny hippo planter immediately made me laugh when I spotted him. The giant eyes, the tiny floral details, the removable planter pot? Incredible energy honestly. I love pieces like this because they feel playful, nostalgic, and slightly chaotic in the best way. Also important: the planter insert has a drainage hole, which somehow makes this little guy feel way more functional than he has any business being.
Nancy Meyers Candle Pedestal Energy

Found this wooden candlestick pedestal while thrifting recently and was pleasantly surprised in the best way. The shape feels softly mid century inspired to me and I love how warm wood tones instantly make a room feel calmer and more collected. This would look so good styled with a chunky pillar candle and a stack of old books somewhere near a softly glowing lamp. Honestly? This one feels quietly expensive and timeless.
The 1979 Recipe Box of My Dreams

This next item has been on my thrift list for awhile now and I genuinely gasped when I found this. An unused recipe box from 1979 complete with original recipe cards inside? COME ON. The colors and typography feel beautifully nostalgic and this thing honestly feels like a tiny kitchen time capsule. Looking forward to adding my grandma’s recipes into this little guy.
Green Glass Cake Stand

Found this beautiful green glass cake stand recently from a coworkers mom’s garage and honestly became obsessed with how the light catches the detailing. This appears to be uranium glass.
Brass Unicorns & Other Tiny Mysteries

These heavy little brass unicorns absolutely felt like something I was destined to find. Tiny brass animal figurines somehow make a room feel instantly more collected and personal to me. Slightly magical. Slightly weird. Exactly the energy I want from home decor honestly. And the tiny rainbow unicorn trinket jar? Aggressively whimsical.
Very Cool Framed Art Print

I found this signed and numbered Nita Engle art print at the thrift and could NOT stop thinking about it, so I went back the next day. The ornate wood detailing paired with the velvet brown matting feels so rich and vintage-inspired. It honestly looks like something that would quietly hang in a cozy cabin or old library somewhere. The painting itself has such soft calming colors too. I fully support the return of oversized vintage art, moody landscapes, and beautifully dramatic frames. Immediately yes.
Thanks for Perusing
I think my favorite thrift finds are always the ones that feel oddly specific and impossible to perfectly duplicate. The little treasures with personality always end up being the things I love most. And honestly? That tiny hippo planter still makes me laugh every time I look at him.
If any of these little finds happen to be calling your name too, feel free to message me.
